Job Description: Junior Operator
 

Job Summary:
 

This position involves operation and maintenance of a state-of-the-art hydrogen production plant. The plant uses InEnTec’s plasma-assisted, gasification technology to convert solid feedstocks into fuel-cell grade hydrogen. This position includes responsibility for all areas of the plant's commercial operations, safety, maintenance, and regulatory compliance. Lifting objects may be required up to 50 lbs. Ability to climb ladders reaching 30 feet.

Qualifications: Required

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an industrial operations field.

  • Ideal candidates will be skilled and familiar with operating waste-to-energy and/or chemical processing plants.

 

Other desired qualifications:

  • Familiar with PLC controlled equipment and plant operations using advanced Control HMI software.

  • Experience in the welding field

  • Process flow diagrams (PFDs), Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (PIDs), and Electrical and Instrumentation Diagrams (EIDs)

  • Valid driver's license

  • Math - basic algebra, fractions/percentages.

  • Personal computer proficiency (Internet, word processing, spreadsheets), and other software used by the company.

  • Strong interpersonal abilities to support team philosophy and strategy.

  • Strong organizational ability.

  • High mechanical aptitude and ability to work with simple mechanic's hand tools.

  • Knowledge of gasification, gas cleaning, and hydrogen production processes and hazards within area or site.

  • Understanding of electrical hazards and safety.

 

Responsibilities:
 

  • Safety

    • Understand and adhere to company safe work policies.

    • Promote a safe work environment.

    • Contribute to the improvement of the Environmental, Health, and Safety programs.

    • Apply the Lock out, tag out, try out (LOTOTO) and energy isolation procedures as required for company and contractor personnel.

    • Perform requirements to maintain compliance for environmental regulations.

    • Maintain site security and orderliness, including housekeeping.

    • Actively participates in the Root Cause Analysis process.

    • Follow change order procedure for all changes to process and operating procedures.
       

  • Reliability

    • Follow plant procedures and work instructions and annotate with feedback.

    • Execute, document, and continuously improve equipment preventative and corrective maintenance strategy.

    • Execute and document all corrective actions.

    • Perform and document process and product gas analyzer calibration checks.

    • Effectively prioritize and schedule all work activities.
       

  • Process Operation and Efficiency

    • Assist Shutdowns, Start-ups, and production rate changes for plant.

    • Monitor key process variables and maintain plant in efficient steady state operation.

    • Troubleshoot process problems to identify equipment requiring maintenance.

    • Actively participates in the Root Cause Analysis process.

    • Sets/maintains high housekeeping standards to exemplify/improve ICR image.
       

  • Administrative and Managerial

    • Follow all Quality Control requirements to ensure a quality product is delivered to InEnTec's customers.

    • Document in plant logbook date and time of all machinery start/stops, analyzer calibrations, process upsets, product losses, customer complaints, or any other major event(s).

    • Complete required round sheets, system tests, site and equipment inspection forms.

    • Maintain orderly and clean personal protection equipment and work area.

    • Coordinate operations and safety meetings.

    • Complete all training activities per schedule and meet annual performance goals.

    • Accept On call duty and overtime as required.

    • Able to work 12 hrs. rotating shifts on a 36/48 (2) week schedule.

    • Good interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.

    • Other duties assigned by manager
